The island’s third annual golf cart tour highlighting many of Skidaway Audubon’s environmental projects was held May 11 along the picturesque Terrapin Point golf course.
New residents, non-golfing residents and others at The Landings who have never had the opportunity to see and learn about Audubon’s activities and experience the magnificent scenery that is the backdrop for these beneficial projects, enjoyed the informative outing. Participants learned about Audubon’s terrapin turtle rescue project, the bird trail, bat houses, and pollinator garden projects. The tour takes place on a day when the Terrapin Point course is closed.
In addition to organizing the annual tour, Audubon’s Nature Notices project promotes environmental stewardship, such as the use of native plants, because nature notices when its habitat is altered or destroyed.
