Gardening for WildLife

National Wildlife Federation

On May 5th, Friends of Skidaway Audubon and the Landings Garden Club will be hosting a presentation by David Mizejewski from The National Wildlife Federation.

David is a naturalist, television personality and a well-known and acclaimed spokesperson for NWF. His topic for our presentation will be “Gardening for Wildlife”. He points out that the need to restore wildlife habitat in our cities, towns and neighborhoods is greater than ever. The Monarch butterfly population has plummeted, as have populations of many native bees. New classes of pesticides have emerged posing additional risks to wildlife. Many songbird and amphibian species continue to decline

Light hors d’oeuvres  are being served. Experience the Bee Sting, Milkweed Martini, or the non-alcohol Pollinators Punch,  one of the Signature Skidaway Audubon drinks at the member/cash bar.

An opportunity to purchase David’s newest book Attracting Birds, Butterflies and Other Backyard Wildlife, Expanded Second Edition and book signing will take place immediately after the presentation

Pollinator plant pre-order forms from Thompson's Nursery will be available at the event.  Delivery will be on May 25 at the HarborFest along with other plants to purchase that day.
